Who This Tool Is For
Platform, AI, and product engineering teams deciding which Bedrock model and runtime pattern to use in production.
Why We Built This Tool
Bedrock spend is not just token inference. Teams usually miss the additive cost of Guardrails, Flows, and routing until after traffic ramps.
What Problem It Solves
- Model mismatch. Teams overpay by defaulting to premium models for every request.
- Missing platform costs. Flows and Guardrails line items get excluded from early budgets.
- No routing unit economics. Prompt routing can cut net cost, but only when evaluation overhead is tracked.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where do these rates come from?
AWS public us-east-1 Bedrock rates from Amazon Bedrock pricing, pricing as of 2026-07-05.
Does Batch mode reduce Bedrock price?
Yes. Batch pricing is lower than On-Demand for asynchronous jobs, but it does not fit latency-sensitive traffic.
Why include Flows and Guardrails?
They are separate billable units on top of model tokens and often become meaningful at production request volumes.
Is Prompt Routing always cheaper?
Not always. Routing adds its own evaluation charge, so savings depend on how much traffic can be routed to lower-cost models.
Does this include Knowledge Base vector store costs?
No. Vector store and retrieval infra are excluded in this calculator version.
Is this exact for every region?
No. The calculator is tuned for us-east-1 list rates. Regional rates can differ.
