# Amazon Connect evaluation forms — Save and validate checklist

Use with the [evaluation-form checks guide](https://www.factualminds.com/blog/amazon-connect-evaluation-form-automated-checks-2026/). Verified against AWS What’s New (**2026-10-09**) and [Create an evaluation form, Step 9](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/connect/latest/adminguide/create-evaluation-forms.html) as of **2026-10-10**.

## Region gate

Save and validate for generative AI question quality is available in these **8** Regions:

- US East (N. Virginia), US West (Oregon), Canada (Central)
- Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (London)
- Asia Pacific (Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo)

Seoul and Cape Town are in the Cases CSV list and are **not** in this list.

- [ ] Instance Region is in the 8 above
- [ ] Stakeholders know the check is unavailable outside these Regions

## Permission

Creating or editing the form requires:

**Analytics and Optimization → Evaluation forms → manage form definitions → Create**

- [ ] The manager running Save and validate has Create
- [ ] The grant is on a named security profile, not a shared admin login

## Author the question before you validate

- [ ] Generative AI questions are full questions (title ends in `?`)
- [ ] Each Gen AI question has instructions that name how to decide
- [ ] Answer options are short plain labels
- [ ] Numeric facts (hold time, interruptions, duration) use **metrics**, not generative AI
- [ ] Scripted phrases you can write as a rule use **contact categories**
- [ ] Questions do not ask for volume, pitch, speed, vocal tone, or a screen the transcript cannot show

## Save and validate

1. Open the form.
2. Choose **Save**, then **Save and validate**.
3. **Errors** (structural) must be fixed. They block activation.
4. **Warnings** (the 11 Gen AI checks) do not block activation. Rewrite the question anyway.
5. Choose **Save and validate** again after edits.
6. If the panel reports the rate limit, stop. The cap is **3** Gen AI validations in parallel and **30** per hour per instance. Structural checks still run. Retry the Gen AI stage later.
7. **Resolved** only hides a row. Confirm the warning is gone on a fresh validation before you activate.

## Smoke test

- [ ] One deliberately vague Gen AI question ("Did the agent provide a sales disclosure?") produces a warning that asks for the exact disclosure
- [ ] After you add the required sentence and validate again, that warning is gone
- [ ] Marking the original finding **Resolved** without editing did **not** clear it on the next validation
- [ ] One numeric question is automated with a metric (longest hold or interruptions), not generative AI
- [ ] **Enable fully automated submission of evaluations** stays off until a supervisor has compared auto-scores to recordings
